Puppets can actually turn out to be the some of the best teacher’s aides that a teacher could use. Since kids are captivated by puppets, the easily distracted kids have something to focus on. Puppets can also be used as motivational tools to encourage kids to do their best. The puppet can give words of encouragement or advice to the students. Puppets can help kids understand new concepts in subjects like science and art.

Speaking of art, here are two puppets made by Beth Stuckey, a kindergarten art teacher. She used our Person Puppet Sewing Pattern. She made clothes for them using our Boy Costume Sewing Pattern and Girl Costume Sewing Pattern.

What a brilliant and imaginative way to teach a visual concept to kids! Mary is made using all primary colors, red, blue and yellow. Dary is made using all secondary colors, orange, purple and green. I love everything about these puppets. Beth did an amazing job of using the appropriate colors for the puppets, their hair and their clothes. You can tell she is an artist. The puppets are so professional looking too! Their names are just adorable and easy for the kindergartners to remember. Mary, for the primary colors and Dary for the secondary colors. He even has a 2 on his shirt to help kids remember the word “second.”
