In the last blog article we listed some Fun Facts about monkeys. We also had a free download of a monkey coloring page for the kids (or you) to color. In this blog we want to share some of our favorite craft activities that we found on the web that are simple and fun to do. There was so much to choose from – it was hard to make a decision!
This monkey door knob hanger is so cute! We found this at DLTK Kids. The template can be downloaded either already colored or the kids can color it.
This craft is so simple and easy for little ones! Cut out the shapes to make a cute monkey face. This was from Hub Pages. The craft is there, keep scrolling. You even might find more fun monkey crafts at the site.
Kids just love the “five little monkeys jumping on the bed” and this craft from Kidz Club is perfect for learning numbers and counting. The link goes directly to the free download. The pictures can be laminated for durability. Adding a magnet to the back of each makes the craft a perfect addition to the fridge door to keep kids entertained while waiting for dinner.
What a cute idea! A board game for the littlest ones to practice counting, number recognition, and number quantity skills while having fun feeding the monkey! We found this at Tot Schooling and it is a free download!
Have some spare paper lunch bags laying around? Then get ready to turn them into some monkey puppets. Use our free monkey paper bag puppet pattern designed by The Tucson Puppet Lady herself! It’s a great activity for the kids to color, cut out, glue and then play with.
Need a puppet with a moving mouth and makes expressions? We’ve got the pattern!
And if you are really bitten by the craft bug, you can use our Monkey Puppet Sewing Pattern to make your own puppet. It is available as a digital download so you can start sewing immediately. We recommend using fleece and felt fabrics because they are inexpensive and readily available from craft stores. Customers tell us how easy our step by step patterns (with lots of pictures) are to follow especially after watching the video tutorials. In fact you can watch our free video tutorial on how to sew the monkey puppet right now!
what our customers are saying:
“I love her patterns. Pattern well written and easy to follow.”
“I love how the puppet turned out. Please keep the patterns coming!”
NEXT BLOG FEATURES BOOKS AND FREE PUPPET PATTERN
In our next blog, we’ll be sharing a few books which feature monkeys that preschoolers (and older kids) enjoy. The books range from fact to fiction. We’ll also have a free pattern download for a felt monkey hand puppet. You don’t even have to know how to sew, the whole puppet can be made using a hot glue gun. Stay tuned to our blog to get your free download.
