Our pattern of the month is the Sheep (or Lamb)! Sheep are very gentle animals and were one of the first animals to be domesticated. Sheep can display emotions like anger, boredom, fear, disgust, despair and happiness. They can also recognize emotion by facial expressions. They prefer smiles to frowns. They can self medicate themselves. When ill they will eat specific plants that will cure them.
Fun Facts About Sheep (or Lambs)
- Their wool will grow forever
- One pound of wool makes 10 miles of yarn
- They have almost 360 degree vision – humans have around 155 degrees
- Young sheep are called lambs
- A group of sheep is called a herd, flock or mob
- Desert Big Horn sheep are a distant relative to domesticated sheep
