In a previous blog article we listed some Fun Facts about dragons. We also had a free download of a dragon coloring page for the kids (or you) to color. In this blog we want to share some of our favorite craft activities that we found on the web that are simple and fun to do. Kids love dragons and there are a lot of dragon craft activities on the web!
We usually pick easier crafts for the little ones, but this wooden spoon Chinese Dragon craft is so creative and it looks like so much fun to play with. We found it at Activity Village.co.uk
Danielle’s Place has this adorable and functional paper clip bookmark dragon craft! The extra fluffy pipe cleaners make a great dragon. She also has more dragon crafts for older kids at the site. Check them out!
What a great craft! The kids can really pretend to be a fire breathing dragon with this easy craft using those left over toilet paper rolls. We found this at One Little Project.
A paper plate craft and a puppet! Two for one! This adorable craft uses my favorite crafting material – a paper plate and the finished project is a puppet! We found this at Learn With Play at Home.
Have some spare paper lunch bags laying around? Then get ready to turn them into some dragon puppets. Use our free dragon paper bag puppet pattern designed by The Tucson Puppet Lady herself! It’s a great activity for the kids to color, cut out, glue and then play with.
Need a puppet with a moving mouth and makes expressions? We’ve got the pattern!
And if you are really bitten by the craft bug, you can use our Dragon Puppet Sewing Pattern to make your own puppet. It is available as a digital download so you can start sewing immediately. We recommend using fleece and felt fabrics because they are inexpensive and readily available from craft stores. Customers tell us how easy our step by step patterns (with lots of pictures) are to follow especially after watching the video tutorials. In fact you can watch our free video tutorial on how to sew the dragon puppet right now!
what our customers are saying:
“I love her patterns. Pattern well written and easy to follow.”
“I love how the puppet turned out. Please keep the patterns coming!”
NEXT BLOG FEATURES BOOKS AND FREE PUPPET PATTERN
In our next blog, we’ll be sharing a few books which feature dragons that preschoolers (and older kids) enjoy. The books range from fact to fiction. We’ll also have a free pattern download for a felt dragon hand puppet. You don’t even have to know how to sew, the whole puppet can be made using a hot glue gun. Stay tuned to our blog to get your free download.
