My second sewing machine is a White Model 1755. I received it from a friend and think it’s from the 1990’s, but trying to find information for it online is a bit of a challenge. I rarely use it, since I prefer my ancient Singer.
The White 1755 sewing machine features a side loading bobbin case, so I decided to do a how to video series for it. I have a feeling that I’ll be referencing my own video in the future when I need to use this machine, since I don’t use it very often.
I personally prefer the drop-in bobbin, mainly because it’s the bobbin style of my Singer and the one I’m most comfortable with using. If your sewing machine uses a drop-in bobbin, then check out How to Sew with a Drop-in Bobbin Sewing Machine.
Part 1 video covers: sewing machine part names, how to remove the bobbin case, how to wind the bobbin, how to insert the bobbin, how to change the needle and how to thread the machine.
Part 2 video covers: adjusting thread tension, regulating presser foot pressure, adjusting stitch length dial, changing pattern selection dial, how to sew a straight seam, how to baste a 1/8″ seam and how to sew a 1/4″ seam.
