Mouse Craft Activities

In the last blog article we listed some Fun Facts about mice.  We also had a free download of a mouse coloring page for the kids (or you) to color.  In this blog we want to share some of our favorite craft activities that we found on the web that are simple and fun to do.  There was so much to choose from – it was hard to make a decision!

I love it when a craft uses recycled items.  This mouse craft uses an empty cereal box, some paint and a pipe cleaner.  We found this Mouse Craft at No Time for Flash Cards.  And it looks like something that a supervised 2 year old could help with.

This craft is a cute way to extend the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff.   The craft just uses circles and a triangle for kids to trace and cut out.  Then glue the shapes to a piece of paper and color (if not using colored paper) and add details.  It is the first craft at Bright Hub Education.

What a cute simple way to make a Valentine’s Day card!  Folded Heart Mouse Craft for Kids just takes some pink paper, googly eye and a marker.  We found this at Crafty Morning.

When I saw this craft, I just had to include it!  There also is a printable download so you don’t have to try to make the M.  It is made from construction paper, glue, pom pom for nose and googly eyes to complete the picture.  We found M is for Mouse at CrystalandComp.com Letter of the Week Preschool Craft.  Check out her other crafts while at the site.

Have some spare paper lunch bags laying around? Then get ready to turn them into some mice puppets. Use our free mouse paper bag puppet pattern designed by The Tucson Puppet Lady herself!  It’s a great activity for the kids to color, cut out, glue and then play with.

Need a puppet with a moving mouth and makes expressions?  We’ve got the pattern!

And if you are really bitten by the craft bug, you can use our Mouse Puppet Sewing Pattern to make your own puppet. It is available as a digital download so you can start sewing immediately. We recommend using fleece and felt fabrics because they are inexpensive and readily available from craft stores. Customers tell us how easy our step by step patterns (with lots of pictures) are to follow especially after watching the video tutorials.  In fact you can watch our free video tutorial on how to sew the mouse puppet right now!

what our customers are saying:

“I love her patterns.  Pattern well written and easy to follow.”

“I love how the puppet turned out.  Please keep the patterns coming!”

NEXT BLOG FEATURES BOOKS AND FREE PUPPET PATTERN

In our next blog, we’ll be sharing a few books which feature mice that preschoolers (and older kids) enjoy. The books range from fact to fiction. We’ll also have a free pattern download for a free mouse hand puppet. You don’t even have to know how to sew, the whole puppet can be made using a hot glue gun. Stay tuned to our blog to get your free download.
