Fun Facts About Unicorns

Unicorns have captured the imagination of both the common man and historical figures since ancient times.  Ctesias, a Greek historian around 400 BCE, wrote that the animal had a white body, purple head, blue eyes and a multicolored horn.  The horn was white at the base, black in the middle and red at the tip.  Even fearless Genghis Khan who was one of the most intelligent, shrewd military leaders history has ever seen reportedly met a unicorn according to a biography of one of his Chinese advisors.  The unicorn bowed and told him not to continue to conquer India.  Genghis Khan turned around and went home.  Many famous, educated historical figures such as Aristotle, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and Queen Elizabeth I believed in unicorns.
