Vulture Craft Activities

In the last blog article we listed some vulture fun facts.  We also had a free download of a vulture coloring page for the kids (or you) to color.  In this blog we want to share some of our favorite craft activities that we found on the web that are simple and fun to do.  We were so surprised to find quite a few vulture crafts that made the bird look absolutely cute!

Who ever thought a handprint would make such a cute vulture craft?  The Handprint Vulture is from The Measured Mom.  She gives instructions on how her kids made the craft.  I’m glad she did because the original link to instructions is broken.  A fun way to teach the letter V.

This adorable V is for Vulture came from All About Learning Press.  There are free templates available at the site.  The instructions call for card stock, but coloring with crayons would work.  Add some googly eyes and you’ve got a cute vulture!

Here’s another great toilet paper roll craft.  This Toilet Paper Roll Vulture Craft makes a cute vulture.  All you need is the empty roll, some paint, glue, black paper, scraps of recycled tissue paper and the ever important googly eyes.  This cutie is from Red Ted Art Cute and Easy Crafts for Kids.

Here is an easier version of V is for Vulture from A Dab of Glue Will Do.  Free templates are available for this Animal Alphabet V is for Vulture Craft.     This version uses only the free template, crayons and glue.

Have some spare paper lunch bags laying around? Then get ready to turn them into some vulture puppets. Use our free vulture paper bag puppet pattern designed by The Tucson Puppet Lady herself!  It’s a great activity for the kids to color, cut out, glue and then play with.

Need a puppet with a moving mouth and makes expressions?  We’ve got the pattern!

And if you are really bitten by the craft bug, you can use our Vulture Puppet Sewing Pattern to make your own puppet. It is available as a digital download so you can start sewing immediately. We recommend using fleece and felt fabrics because they are inexpensive and readily available from craft stores. Customers tell us how easy our step by step patterns (with lots of pictures) are to follow especially after watching the video tutorials.  In fact you can watch our free video tutorial on how to sew the vulture puppet right now!

What our customers are saying:

“I love her patterns.  Pattern well written and easy to follow.”

“I love how the puppet turned out.  Please keep the patterns coming!”

NEXT BLOG FEATURES BOOKS AND FREE PUPPET PATTERN

In our next blog, we’ll be sharing a few books which feature vultures that preschoolers (and older kids) enjoy. The books range from fact to fiction. We’ll also have a free pattern download for a free vulture hand puppet. You don’t even have to know how to sew, the whole puppet can be made using a hot glue gun. Stay tuned to our blog to get your free download.
